Well done Natalia! There are many of us out here who think like you and we are beyond frustrated. The era we are living in is just so whack. We are caught between short term thinkers maybe because we now have careerist politicians and others who think making money is the path to heaven.
On top of that, just trying to be the voice of reason or discuss issues gets you cancelled these days.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment, and my apologies for the delay in responding – life got a bit chaotic! I totally feel what you’re saying. We are in a time where the balance between short-term gains and long-term vision has tilted way too far in the wrong direction. Careerist politicians and the obsession with quick wins definitely contribute to the noise, and it’s frustrating when deeper conversations get drowned out by the constant churn of shallow headlines.
At the same time, I wonder if what we’re seeing is also a symptom of broader societal shifts. The cracks in social cohesion are more apparent than ever, and as the world gets more complex, the simple narratives, though comforting, are increasingly inadequate. It’s something that’s been on my mind a lot, and I think we need more spaces – digital or physical – where we can rebuild that sense of purpose, even if we don’t always agree.
Thanks again for reading and for your encouragement. I’m grateful that there are still people like you out there who are committed to thinking deeply, even when it feels like the world is spinning faster than ever.
